If you do the Inca Trail or want to stay at least two days at Machu Picchu you may choose to book a hotel at Machu Picchu, most hotels are situated at the nearby village Aquas Calientes. This small but cosy town is pleasant in the evenings and has swimming pools ans spa filled with its natural warm water springs, a warm welcome after the heavy Inca Trail. If you want to stay two days in Machu Picchu you can stay in the sanctuary untill sunset (unforgettable) and enter the next days early hours before the trains from Cusco arrive.
